VIAGRA
AND THE F.D.A - FACT OR FICTION?
The latest money making crazy ignited by pharmaceutical companies
is VIAGRA. The fact is that VIAGRA has put more men six feet under
than any combination of steroids or Ephedra combined. Nonetheless,
pharmaceutical companies continue to push and advertise VIAGRA
to the masses in their never ending quest for the almighty dollar.
It is without question that VIAGRA has been linked to heart problems
and other serious medical issues which have virtually been ignored
by the F.D.A.
Preying on personal problems, VIAGRA was initially
promoted as the savior for erectile problems in aging men. Unfortunately,
it is now being used as a recreational drug by many young people.
Not surprising when one considers that the drug was originally
developed and promoted more for recreational reasons than for
health and wellness. Any physician worth their salt will tell
you that it is better to live with erection issues than to die
of a heart attack or liver failure. VIAGRA goes beyond robbing
Peter to pay Paul and it is time that the F.D.A. recognizes this
and pulls it off of the shelf- especially since their sole role
is purportedly to ensure “the safety of the public.”
If the F.D.A. was so concerned about the public
it would not be running massive campaigns against the use of anabolic
steroids which are used by medical professionals around the world
for anti-aging, hormone replacement therapy and more importantly,
in the treatment of H.I.V. and AIDS patients. If steroids and
growth hormones are so bad for the public then the F.D.A. should
not be allowing the public to purchase Foster and Tyson chicken
which have surprising high levels of growth hormones which are
then directly consumed by millions of Americans on a daily basis.
Believe it or not, pound per pound, a Foster chicken is more juiced
up than a Russian Olympic weight lifter.
Alcohol, tobacco, McDonalds, and K.F.C. contribute
to more deaths than any anabolic steroid that I am aware of. Politicians
should take a hard look at the laws they pass and the power they
give to the F.D.A. because while they can fool some people some
of the time, they cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
Young people are not easily fooled these days. Every time an athlete
is asked to urinate in a jar, America¢s youth are certainly
wondering, how many politicians and lawmakers are being asked
to do the same? If a ball player who earns a living entertaining
America¢s masses is tested for drugs and alcohol, surely
those with the power to send America¢s youth to war should
be tested for drugs and alcohol, shouldn¢t they?
We should all wage war against drug and be sincere
about it instead of political gain. It is time for our leaders
to tell us what they stand for instead of what they are against.
